“Stars in the Making” is a film festival that consists of four Disney channel original movies from the early 2000s. The movies I chose to include in the festival were Camp Rock, the Cheetah Girls, Lemonade Mouth, and High School Musical. Each film includes actors and actresses that grew up on Disney channel and have grown into large celebrities. I created a venue in Orlando, FL called West Walt Park and set the dates and times in June 2022. I created a poster, informational piece, tickets and a collectible item for the festival. I used modernist techniques such as color correlation, sans serif fonts, grid structures, and other continuity cues. For the title of the festival I made the T in “stars” and the I in “in” connect and look similar to the glowing wand that was used to draw the Mickey Mouse head on Disney channel. I also utilized the glowing effect in other parts of my project. I made an icon for each movie that related to them and color coated the titles and times to match the icons. In the informational piece, I included a summary of the festival, a film synopsis for each movie, the directors and release dates, the icons, and the website where more information would be found at. I designed collectible enamel pins for each film based off of the collectable trading pins that Disney sells. The pins are the icons that I created for each movie: guitar, high heel, lemon, and paw print. The front of my tickets are the designated colors for each film with the festival title, and the backs include the times and dates of each film which are specified by their color.
