The purpose of this project was to select a corporate company and redesign/design their annual report. I decided to my research on Amazon since they did not have a report specially designed. I analyzed the entire 2020 report and picked out Amazon’s mission statement, several information for narrative spreads, tabular data, and graphic highlights. I wanted to incorporate a lot of Amazon’s style and identity throughout my project to explore a more diverse graphic approach. I used the shopping cart icon from their webpage as the page numbers and used the colors Amazon strictly uses for their entire identity. I also utilized the company’s logo and signature arrow mark to make a lot of my design choices. I created a few pages in my book using French Paper Brown Box Kraft Cardstock to give the package feeling that Amazon strongly resembles. I created a timeline of Amazon’s entire history as a gatefold in my book, in which I also reinforced with the brown cardstock. I used the typeface Amazon Ember in multiple weights and sizes because it is the exact typeface that is used by Amazon. The size of my book is 7 x 10” which is the dimensions of one Amazon’s most used box sizes, A1. I wanted my whole book to look like a package, so I created my cover using an actual recyclable brown paper packaging that I received from Amazon. I measured the dimensions and reinforced my end pages to the cover using a piece of chipboard. I also designed a 2" wide packaging tape band on the front cover that reads “Amazon Annual Report” and includes the year 2020 over the Amazon arrow.
